flickd was founded in 2024 by Matilde Neffe out of a strong need to create a user-centric app for all TV & film lovers like herself, to come together and have discussions around content, as well as track what they're watching in one single place.

After 10 years at Amazon, Matilde decided to leave the company and pursue her passion for film & TV.

Matilde was uniquely positioned to create flickd - while at Amazon, she gained extensive experience at Prime Video, working with studios to integrate their content onto Prime Video's selection, and leading the team responsible for personalization and recommendation of content across iOS, Android, Fire TV and smart TVs.

Next, she worked closely with startups at AWS helping them scale their businesses leveraging the most innovative cloud services.

Before she left Amazon, she worked with Product and Engineering in the development of the search functionality of the Amazon app on both iOS and Android, leveraging cutting-edge technology like automated speech recognition and GenAI technologies.
